The shared Mears Connect standard shuttle is the cheapest option per ticket: about $116 round trip plus surcharges for 2 adults and 2 kids. Its door-to-door Express service costs $250 round trip for up to 4, the same as an SPL private SUV round trip ($250.20 with code ORLANDO10). From 5 people up, the private SUV is cheaper than Express, and it adds free car seats and no shared stops.
Private SUV, up to 6 passengers. Tolls, meet & greet and child seats included.
- Tolls included, gratuity optional
- Flight tracking, free wait for delays
- Free child seats
- Free cancellation up to 24h
After Magical Express ended, many families defaulted to the shared shuttle because it looked like the “official” replacement. It is a good service for some travelers. When you add up tickets for every person, round trip, the shared shuttle is still the budget choice, but the private, no-stops options are closer than most people think, and for bigger families the private SUV is the better deal.
The numbers, round trip
We used Mears Connect’s published 2026 fares (standard: $16 per adult and $13 per child aged 3–9 each way, under 3 free; Express: $250 round trip for up to 4, $55 per additional guest) and compared them with SPL’s flat $139 each way, with the 10% round-trip discount.
| Group | Mears standard (shared) | Mears Express | SPL private SUV |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2 adults | $64 + surcharge | $250 | $250.20 |

What the price doesn’t show
Time
The drive from MCO to Disney is 25–40 minutes. A shared shuttle adds the wait for the vehicle to fill and stops at other resorts. On the way back, shared pickups are scheduled hours before your flight. With a private car you leave when it makes sense for you.
Car seats
Shared shuttles do not provide car seats. With us they are free and installed before you arrive: rear-facing, forward-facing and boosters.
Late arrivals
Landing at 11 PM with sleeping kids is when private service matters most. Your chauffeur is already tracking the flight and waiting at baggage claim.
Stops
Need to stop on the way? With a private car you can ask; with a shared shuttle you can’t.

Who should take the shuttle
- Solo travelers and couples on a tight budget
- Travelers arriving at mid-day with no kids and light luggage
- Anyone happy to trade time for savings
Who should book a private car
- Families of 4 or more
- Parents with children who need car seats
- Grandparents, guests with reduced mobility, or anyone after a long international flight
- Late-night or early-morning flights
